21 - South Lake

South Lake is small and pretty, though at a busy intersection of MLK Jr. Drive and Chain of Lakes Drive East.

If you head past South Lake north on Chain of Lakes Drive, you'll quickly come to a parking area on the right. Along the side of the parking lot toward South Lake (south side), there's a path that runs east-west. Take this path to the east past a yellow metal pole in the middle of the path, and go about 60 yards further.

At that point, there's a large tree next to the right edge of the path, about a foot in diameter. Just to the right of this tree, go up the small hill along a faint path. Stay to the left as this path curves around and continue for about 50 yards.

The path passes through a few spots to choose from, some grassy and others dirt, some shady and others sunny. If you go far enough, you'll come to a place that has a nice view south toward the lake.
Even though all of the spots here are along this trail, it is faint enough that you're unlikely to share the place with anyone else.
