42 - Golf Course 4th Hole

Among the almost endless options for recreation in Golden Gate Park is a nine-hole golf course in the west end of the park. This is one of the nicer golf courses to be found in a major municipal park, with rolling hills and pretty foliage.

If you're playing here and you want to release some frustration, a good place to do so is on the 4th hole. About 30 yards from the tee down the right side of the fairway, turn right into the woods. This is a pretty, shady area with plenty of spots to choose from.

You might not want to spend too much time here, as you may be joined by some golfer bad enough to hit into the woods only 30 yards down the fairway. However, you can walk in further for greater privacy.
